Middle Earth Info on Morgoth:
Morgoth
Mogoth was a Vala of high rank and great power, living originally in Valinor. Sometime in the First Age, Morgoth became evil and, coveting the Silmarilli and their light, poisoned the Two Trees and stole the three Silmarilli. With a number of lessar Valar, Morgoth fled to Middle-earth and founded the realm of Angband and built the great fortress of Thangorodrim. He set the Silmarilli in his Iron Crown. Fëanor and a great number of Noldor followed him to Middle-earth; and, aided by the Sindar and theEdain, fought against Morgoth in the War of the Great Jewels, which lasted for a number of generations of the Edain. Finally, Morgoth had the victory, but Eärendil, with the aid of the Silmaril that Beren had stolen from the Iron Crown, sailed to Valinor and gained the support of the Valar. In the Great Battle at the end of the First Age, Morgoth was overthrown and Thangorodrim broken.
Morgoth
Among Morgoth's accomplishments was the breeding of Orcs and Trolls. Morgoth was also known as the Great Enemy, the Enemy, Morgoth the enemy, and the Dark Power of the North. His real name was Mechar. |
