5 Random Middle Earth Info's:
Edain
Of the Three Houses of the Edain, the Third House, the House of Hadar, was the most renowned in the wars against Morgoth, and also the only house whose members had blond hair. The Edain were no doubt much like the Dúnedain physically and emotionally, although their life span was probably shorter.
Adûnaic
Adûnaic was the language of the Edain, so called because it was the everyday tongue of the Dúnedain of Númenor. In the days of the pride of Númenor (Second Age 2899-3319), Adûnaic was also used at the royal court. Adûnaic was related to the languages of the Men of the Vales of Anduin and was the major source of the vocabulary of Westron. The language was also called Númenorean.
Ancient World
The Ancient World was the world of the First Age, so called by Aragorn.
Sauron
After the War of the Elves and Sauron, Sauron extended his power eastward for 1,500 years. In 3262, Ar-Pharazôn of Númenor landed at Umbar with a vast army to contest the rule of Middle-earth with Sauron. Sauron was deserted by his armies and was forced to submit to Ar-Pharazôn, who took him back to Númenor. In less than fifty years, Sauron corrupted the court and persuaded Ar-Pharazôn to take the Undying Lands, and immortality, by force. This led to the desruction of Númenor. Sauron escaped the wreck, but his body perished, and he was thereafter unable to assume a fair-seeming body. He returned to Mordor, and in 3429, he attacked Gondor. In 3434, he was defeated in the Battle of Dagorlad by the army of the Last Alliance and was besieged in the Barad-dûr. In 3441, in a final battle on the slopes of Orodruin, Sauron was overthrown by Gil-galad and Elendil, but killed both his foes. Isildur cut off Sauron's finger and took the Ring.
Arnor
The senior Dúnedain Kingdom of Middle-earth, founded in the Second Age 3320 by Elendil, who ruled directly as its first king. At its greatest Arnor included all the lands between the Gwathlo-Bruinen and the Lune. Arnor's first capital was Annúminas, but before 861 the capital was moved to Fornost, the chief city of the country. Unlike Gondor, Arnor did not prosper, and the dwindling of the Dúnedain began with the disastrous Battle of the Gladden Fields in the Third Age 2. However, throughout all its troubles, the rulers of Arnor, the heirs of the Line of Isildur, were preserved. |
