I
purchased this "mini" laptop especially for the trip. It's a Toshiba
Librreto, here are some of the specs and other goodies:
- Only
weighs 1.8 pounds - perfect for traveling!
- It's
a full laptop (not a palmtop) and runs a complete version of Win 95.
- P75
processor.
- 800meg
hard-drive.
- 32
megs ram.
- Port
replicator with a parallel, serial, external monitor, and infra-red
ports.
- 1
PCMCIA typeII slot.
- USRobotics
56k modem. (cell ready for those emergencies!) I can see me now, on
top of some mountain in New Zealand trying to read my email :)
- The
Camera FlashCard (20megs) works in the PCMCIA slot. Now I can dump
my pics from the digital camera directly to the hard-drive and don't
have to wait for the painful serial transfer.
- Zip
drive works great in the Parallel port, so, since I have a limited
hard-drive, I can then dump the pics to a zip cartridge.
- Floppy
drive plugs into the PCMCIA slot.
