February 24, 1998 Last Dive

Today is our last day to do anything, we leave tomorrow. We decided to go on one more diving trip. We found a good deal for a trip to the reef that included 2 free scuba dives. We boarded "Compass" a good sized boat. The weather was overcast, but I'd rather have that than the glaring sun today. We made it to the reef and splashed in for the first dive. Sid had a slow leak in his secondary valve, so our dive got cut from 1 hour to 30 minutes. No big deal, we still saw the usual reef stuff, but understood a lot more of what we saw after the Reef Teach class.

We had lunch and then moved to another reef for our second dive, it was better, we saw a couple more reef sharks and met Wally, a very friendly (and huge, about 4 feet) fish. He would swim up to you and let you touch him. On the way home they dropped a net and let you hold on while the boat was moving, they called it "Boom Netting."

We made a couple of friends on the way back, Andrea and Cheryl.

We made it back to the docks and went out that night for a nice dinner and walked around a bit. I tried some more night photography.
