We arrived at Hervey Bay last night. We had some dinner then went to bed.
Colette had to leave in the morning, I was going on a 1 day adventure
on Frasier Island, and Sid and Chris went on a 2 day adventure on Frasier
Island. We all went our separate ways this morning so we had to take a
good-bye photo!

All right, on to Frasier Island. We took a ferry to the island, it is
the largest sand island in the world! It is also the only place in the
world with rainforest growing on the sand. Our first stop once on the
island was in the rainforest.

There was a freshwater stream flowing over the sand.

Along the stream we saw the oldest plant species in the world(forgot what
it was called).

After a while we came to the west beach and there was a plane waiting
for anyone who wanted to fly around over the island. Of course I did it
and got the front seat with the pilot. Had some pretty good views of the
island.

From the plane you could see the freshwater lakes........

.......sand dunes.......

.........and beaches.

We landed and continued the bus ride down the beach until we came to a
japanese ship wreck from the '30's.

Further up the beach we stopped at a place called colored sands.

Then we went inland again an stopped at Lake MacKenzie for a swim.

They fed us lunch at a restaurant somewhere on the island. Frasier Island
was a great place, Sid is on the island for 2 days, but I wasn't into
the camping stuff at that time, so I headed back to the hostel.
Oh yeah, saw a wild Dingo! He did get up after his nap and walked around
trying to steal stuff from peoples bags.
I was tired from the trip, so had some dinner, did some laundry and called
it a night.
