Byron Bay. Last night we saw the beach at high tide which was too close
to the rocky area and didn't notice the bigger beach area a little north
of us, so I was disappointed last night, but the next morning we caked
on the suntan lotion and spent the day at the beach. The sand here is
really fine and squeaks when you walk.

The waves were average, but good enough for boogie boards. You could see
dark patches out in the water about 100 yards away and there were people
snorkeling out there, we saw one guy come in with a small trident and
a bag with a few fish. We're going to do some scuba/snorkeling later in
the week. We pretty much stayed on the beach all day and kept plenty of
suntan lotion on. A local told us Australia has no ozone above it, so
it's the worst place for sun burn.
